What It’s All About

January 25, 2010

The past year I’ve been without work.  One great aspect of the unemployment is that it gave me an opportunity to focus on something I love to do, cook.   It’s an incredible time to get into cooking– more successful restaurants and celebrity chefs publish cookbooks every year, and the internet is an incredible repository for almost every style and level of cooking.

But one thing troubled me.  Since for me money was tight for me the past year, I found myself caught between two styles of recipes– incredible recipes that cost the same (or in some cases more) than dining at a nice restaurant, and cheap recipes that tasted awful or offered no nutritional value.

So this blog will be my attempt to share what I’ve learned (and to learn more) about cooking on a budget, but cooking great.
